Chief Information Officer
Michael Melavic is the Chief Information Officer and has been with CEA since June 1997. He plans and directs the information technology (IT) strategies, implementation, and maintenance required to facilitate the CEA mission and business goals including all associated staffing, budgeting, and contracting. He is most proud of the Centralized Policy & Processing (CPP) program currently available to all CEA participating insurers.
Prior to working at CEA, Michael worked in information technology for the CA Department of Toxic Substances, Department of General Services (Public Water Supply Branch), and Public Utilities Commission. Michael designed and implemented one of the State’s first production networks with data and GIS capability in response to AB 21 while working for the Public Water Supply Branch and wrote the modifications to the Public Utilities Commission’s General Orders to allow the use of electronic signatures in CA.
Outside of his work at CEA, Michael is active in music, creating and producing both live performances and multiple online recordings. He’s also a photographer of street art, nature, and everyday things that interest him.
