More than twenty-one thousand people gathered at the Dignity Health Sports Park to sing along to the latest hits of the summer during this year’s KIIS FM’s Wango Tango concert presented by JUVÉDERM, in Los Angeles. Once again, the one-day event showcased some of the world’s most famous singers and served as the platform for CEA to reveal the total amount raised through its Get Prepared, California! Auction to benefit the American Red Cross.
CEA and iHeartMedia, Inc., entities which sponsor and coordinate the auction, respectively, presented the American Red Cross with a check totaling $175,882 on the main stage. Since it started in 2012, the auction has raised over $1.4 million, and proceeds benefit the American Red Cross’ disaster-preparedness and relief efforts in California.
And because California is earthquake country and the big one could strike at any time, CEA made sure to provide concert goers with the opportunity to learn about how to be better prepared for a damaging quake. Using 3-D technology goggles, members of the public got to experience what it would be like to be in a room before, during and after an earthquake. Amongst other interactive experiences, attendees also had the chance to feel the shaking of a magnitude 7.5 quake and learn how to Drop, Cover, and Hold On for safety.
