CEA Staff Look Back
October 17, 2019 marked the 30th anniversary of the devastating 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Also known as the “World Series earthquake,” the magnitude 6.9 earthquake was felt throughout Santa Cruz, Monterey and the San Francisco Bay Area. A handful of CEA team members experienced this destructive event. Here they share their stories of that day and talk about how they’re better prepared now, before the next damaging earthquake strikes.
