CEA CEO Glenn Pomeroy spoke during the “2018 Epicenter Summit” in the Presidio of San Francisco. The two-day summit, which started on April 10, served as a platform for representatives from the public, private, and non-governmental sectors across the region to share their experiences and develop relationships that will help strengthen the Bay Area’s regional disaster response and recovery efforts.
Pomeroy emphasized CEA’s mission to educate, mitigate, and insure California residents. He spoke about the importance of protecting families and property by choosing the right earthquake insurance policy to be able to recover faster in the event of a catastrophic earthquake.
There were several exhibitions and field demonstrations offered during the summit. Local agencies, like the San Francisco Fire, Police and Sheriff departments, had the opportunity to showcase their emergency response vehicles and provide a run through of how they respond during an emergency crisis.
Overall, the “2018 Epicenter Summit” allowed participants to foster creativity while reviewing local and regional planning strategies to ensure safe, prepared, and resilient communities.
Additional CEA staff, who attended the summit, did not miss the opportunity to share information about the Earthquake Brace + Bolt Program, earthquake insurance and staying safe and being prepared to survive and recover in earthquake country.
